A world without waste

Google CEO Sundar Pichai recently gave a speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, where he discussed the company's efforts to create a more sustainable future through its circular economy strategy. According to Pichai, data centers use an enormous amount of energy and raw materials, with global data center energy consumption reaching 200 terawatt hours, which is similar to some countries' total electricity usage. To address this issue, Google has committed to matching 100% of the energy it uses with renewable sources, such as wind and solar power.Pichai also highlighted the company's efforts to design waste out of its systems by keeping products and materials in use through remanufacturing and recycling. He believes that this approach can help redesign waste out of all systems and create a circular world where almost no new raw materials are mined, carbon emissions are brought to near zero, and there are no more landfills.To achieve this vision, Pichai emphasized the need for collective action from individuals, governments, and companies.
